They worry that the global economy will force everyone to become like the families of the
world

the
most
economic
and
political
power.
They
do
not
want
to
be
second
class
citizens in the village.
Others
worry
that
conflict
will
increase
as
time
and
distance
shrink.
Every
family
wants
to
protect itself. O one wants the problems of another family .they want to live in their own way.
2,new and old images of the world
The USA is a melting pot and it is a city upon a hill. Many younger Americans no longer accept the
melting pot image, because It includes the idea that people lose their home cultural identities,
traditions, and values when they become Americans.
3, competing worldviews

more
difficult
to
resolve
conflicts
over
worldviews
than
it
is
to
resolve
conflicts
over
territory and resources.

Our culture is so much a part of who we are and what the world is like for us that we do not
notice it.

Culture

beliefs

behaviors,
institutions
and
communication patterns that are shared , learned and passed down through the generation in an
identifiable group of people.
As participants in a culture ,we are meaning makers.
