Recall what we have learned in the last Module.

T: Last class we have learned the history of English and some ways to learn it. Are you confident to learn it well?

In this procedure, try to make students know how to describe a school-leavers' party.

T: Here I want you to look at the picture. Please tell me what they are doing.

Ss: They are having a school-leavers' party. They are very happy. T: I think at the school-leavers' party, maybe some of you will sing and dance. Now look at the picture and answer the questions.

1．What is the special event? 2．What is everybody doing?

(The students are talking about the picture.) T: OK! Can you answer the questions now?

T: Betty is going to attend the school-leavers' party. Do you want to know what she is doing right now? Let's listen to a dialogue between Betty and her mum. Got it?

Ss: Got it.

1. Read through the questions in Activity 2 in order to know what the material is about.

2．Play the tape. While they are listening, the students should write some notes relevant(相关的) to the questions.

3．Play the tape again for the students to check. 4．Check the answers with the whole class. Questions：

1．Where is Betty going tonight? 2．What are Betty and Tony going to do? 3．Why does Betty refuse to eat before she leaves? Sample answers to Activity 2：

1．Betty is going to the school-leavers' party. 2．They're going to put up the pictures.

T: Do you want to know how they will celebrate the school－leavers' party?

Ss: Yes.

T: Now continue reading the dialogue about a school-leavers' party. While listening, please take notes and complete the table in Activity 3.

(The students listen for the first time to fill in the blanks and the second time to check the answers.)
